All You Need To Know About Stainless Steel Round Bars

  • Comments 0

Steel is one of the most vital metals used worldwide in almost every industry. The high ductility and elasticity of steel makes it versatile enough to be used for different industrial purposes. Steel is a combination of iron ore, carbon and other chemical components like silicon, oxygen, phosphorus, etc. Combination of simple carbon and iron ore makes non alloyed steel while addition of other chemicals make alloyed steel. Stainless steel is a particular type of steel which is formed by adding chromium and nickel to steel. Stainless steel is resistant to rutting and does not needs a separate coating of any chemical. The shine, luster, durability and versatility of stainless steel make them perfect to be used for industrial purposes. Stainless steel has a high tensile strength and durability that contribute significantly to their enhanced use in heavy industries.

Steel round bars are widely used in many construction and large scale heavy industries. The companies engaged in manufacturing Valves, Power Generation, Construction, Petro Chemicals, Automotive, etc, make the broadest use of steel round bars. There are many application areas of these bars. Some of the most significant ones are Mixer Shaft, Machine Tools, Fasteners, Valve Bodies, Studs, Dairy Equipments, Handles, Surgical Equipments, Bolts, etc.

The Process Of Manufacture Of Stainless Steel Round Bars Is Mentioned Below:

  • Nitrogen, Nickel and Molybdenum are put in a blast furnace where they come in contact with carbon electrodes. The temperature inside the blast furnace is very high.

  • At the optimum temperature, these elements fuse together. This process of fusing produces a metal alloy.

  • The metal alloy undergoes a process of de-carbonization when it is introduced in an argon vessel. Here, the process of casting also takes place.

  • After de-carbonization, the steel is molded into the desired shape.

The stainless steel round bars have several advantages over other metals, the main being their durability and versatility. They are also not prone to wear and tear. Their corrosion resistance makes them perfect for industrial use. These Steel Round Bars are also resistant to bending and scratching, and they have enhanced mechanical properties and tolerance. Altogether, these properties contribute to the enhanced use of stainless steel round bars in industries.
