Movie is editing by Lee Smith. Music is given by Hans Zimmer. Despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The Dark Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent’s crimes, Batman feels compelled to intervene to assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with Bane’s plans to destroy the city.
Movie Review (Synopsis):
Following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent’s crimes in order to protect Dent’s reputation and is hunted as a fugitive by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Gotham has recovered from the Joker’s killing spree, and is experiencing a time of peace. A warning from the “enigmatic” Selina Kyle foreshadows a coming cataclysm, prompting Batman to return to the city where he must stop the villain Bane and his plans to destroy Gotham.
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
The next big superhero blockbuster rears its head on the horizon. Unless you’ve been living in a hole in the ground for the last 2 years, you’ll have probably heard of The Dark Knight Rises, the third and last Batman film from jolly nice British chap Christopher Nolan.
The first screening of the film – to a highly select audience of bloggers and fans and – astonishing I know – they all seemed to like it. Didn’t see that coming at all. Be that as it may, the film appears destined to become a massive hit but beyond the tidal wave of hype, questions are being asked about whether this is a glorious last stand for the “gloomy” superhero movie: is Nolan, dare we say it.
The poster is an alternate version and comes in an edition of 250. As you can see there are all of the villains from Nolan’s trilogy. These posters will NOT be on sale. Warner Bros. is handing them out to attendees of The Dark Knight Rises Town Screening at Comic-Con.
While those who have seen the film so far appear to be largely from the fanboy sector of the blogosphere, the early reaction suggests Nolan may have another hit on his hands following the critical successes of 2005′s Batman Begins and 2008′s The Dark Knight. The final instalment of the trilogy once again stars Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Caine as Alfred and Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon. New arrivals include Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Gotham cop John Blake. The film’s events take place eight years after those of The Dark Knight, with Batman emerging from retirement to face a new threat to his beloved city.
Several accidents occurred during the production of the film. While filming at Wollaton Hall, a tractor-trailer crashed into the main entrance, though no one was injured. A stuntman parachutist later crashed through the roof of a home in Cairngorm Gliding Club, Feshiebridge in Scotland, and became wedged there after a failed landing during a skydiving stunt; he was not seriously injured. While filming scenes in Pittsburgh, Hathaway’s stunt double crashed into an IMAX camera while filming a sequence that required her to ride a Batpod down a flight of stairs during a riot. There were no injuries, but the camera was destroyed. A second accident took place in Pittsburgh when the truck carrying the then-unidentified vehicle later termed “The Bat” went off-course and crashed into a lighting array, damaging the model of the aircraft. Production was delayed while the model was repaired.
“The Dark Knight Rises”, the final part of his Batman trilogy, is the biggest story he has told so far, says maverick Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan, known for his intriguing films ” Inception” and ” Insomnia”.
A recently-released Dark Knight Rises plot synopsis shed a bit more light on the film’s storyline, while also (slowly) re-igniting the masses’ interest in seeing Christian Bale as Batman, facing off against the brutal tactics of animalistic terrorist Bane (Tom Hardy). Thanks to the announcement of the movie’s preliminary running time, we have an even better of just how much craziness will be going down in this flick.
Nolan reportedly screened a rough cut of The Dark Knight Rises for the head honchos over at Warner Bros. last week, which will afford the filmmaker plenty of time to incorporate any worthwhile feedback from his bosses and refine the final product as he sees fit. While the studio executives’ general response is being kept firmly under wraps for now, MTV has scooped up the following intriguing nugget of information.
Dark Knight Rises also marks a break in tradition from its predecessors, due to its theatrical release date arriving after this year’s San Diego Comic-Con festivities take place. That’s lead to speculation that Nolan and certain members of the film’s cast could be putting in an unprecedented appearance at the event.
Either way, the length of the movie (not to mention Nolan’s insistence on moviegoers seeing the film in 70mm IMAX wherever possible) has hefty ramifications for projectionists working behind the scenes. To that end, the Liberty Science Center (which features one of the largest IMAX theaters in America) put together a video detailing their pre-release process – including the time it takes to splice together reels, how to operate the enormous IMAX projection rig, upgrades to the system that allow for longer runtimes, and the difference between 35mm and 70mm film.
