Are you on a limited budget? If you are, you might want to consider a home improvement project centered around cleaning your home. Home improvement projects usually do not conjure up images of cleaning your house, yet doing this is a great way to improve your home. The way that you clean your home, and how thorough you are, may be based upon your desire to do so. This is why cleaning green is so important. In this document, you will read several health related home improvement tips that focus on green cleaning.

There are lots of cleaning products that are green-based, so it is easy to find one. Just because it is environmentally friendly doesn’t mean that it will be more expensive than other cleaning products, and brands like Seventh Generation can be found most anywhere. Target, for example, sells that product line at cheap prices. You shouldn’t have any trouble getting used to environmental friendly products, like Seventh Generation, Method, Biokleen and others, especially if you have used spray cleaners. These products take no preparation as they are ready to use as soon as you get them. You don’t have to make them from scratch or purchase special ingredients. After you have bought the product, whenever you are ready to clean, all you need to do is spray. Your bathroom is probably the worst place to be cleaning with chemical-based cleansers. The chemicals, that could be harmful, remain in the air or seep into the walls because bathrooms have so little ventilation. Your cleaning solvents should be baking soda, borax and vinegar, instead of chemical-based cleansers, although using them at different times. You won’t risk inhaling a harmful chemical and you will still have a clean bathroom. You can also cut down on mildew by always running a fan while you bathe and-if you don’t feel too self-conscious about it, leaving the bathroom door open at least a crack to allow the steam to escape.

Never use furniture polish when cleaning. Never use furniture polish as it is made with chemicals that may hurt you. Bad health can arise from using it. They are bad for the air. You should also be concerned about the structural integrity of anything you clean with the substance. A more natural green alternative would be to combine one part lemon juice and two parts olive oil to make furniture polish that is natural. Just get a cloth, pour some on, and rub it into your furniture liberally. This is a much better way to improve or maintain the overall health and structure of those that you love and the item you’re trying to clean, respectively. The smell or odor of this mixture is much more pleasant than chemically-based furniture polish typically is.

Once you get everything clean around your home, doing the home improvement projects will be easier to decide on. Why would you pollute your home by using chemical laden and intensive products when the green products and environmentally friendly cleaning methods get the job done just as well and are much safer for you and your family? A good place to start has been with these tips. There are many places you can look to find a lot more tips.
