Crystal chandeliers are a very beautiful decoration for you house. They look really nice until they get dirty and dusty. They need maintains and they need to be taken care of, in order to look good. That is why you should clean them. If you do not know how to clean a crystal chandelier, here is what you need to do:

First of all, before you start with the cleaning, cleaners in Reservoir advice you to shut off all the power to the chandelier. This is a very important step, because otherwise you risk having a electric shock. This does not mean only to turn the lights off, it also means to turn the switch off and make sure the corresponding breaker is switched off.

After that you will have to protect all the light bulbs. Wrap them in plastic bags and secure them with rubber bands. An other thing that you cab do is to remove them, but it takes more time and efforts.

Then you will have to place a blanket or a big towel on the floor or table under the chandelier. You will have to do that so that the drops of cleaner and water fall on the towel, not on the floor.

Now it is time to make the cleaning solution. It is really simple. All you need is a spray bottle and some rubbing alcohol. In the clean spray bottle. Make a mixture of 3 parts of water and one part of rubbing alcohol. Shake it well.

When your cleaner is ready, spray all the crystal parts front and back. Try not to spray any structural pieces and electrical components. Wipe as much as you can with a clean cloth. Leave the parts that you can not reach, they will air dry.

Leave your light off for at least 24 hours. The longer the water has to dry, the better and safer for you.

A lot of people will tell you that it is much better to remove every crystal part and wash it by hand. That might not be a good idea because after that you will have to reassemble the chandelier. If you decide to do that, professional from cleaning Hawthorn recommend you make sure you have a trim diagram of your chandelier, so that you are able to put it back together.

You can also make a couple of photos of your chandelier before you take it apart. This way the reassembling will be much easier. It will be something like a puzzle.
