Installing HP printer driver and the printer

Question
HP Deskjet D 1468 printer, Lenovo computer with Windows XP system, downloaded and tried to install a simple version of printer driver, the driver installation was initially smooth, when it comes to 94% and it suddenly stopped and will not finish.
How to
It would be the best to download the driver from the manufacture’s site, so did you get the hp drivers from hp.com? Or could it be issue with the printer data line? How about the computer system? Are you sure the installation CD are perfect since if it’s not, messages like “installation failed” will pop up in a fixed position.
Therefore, getting the printer driver you need from the official hp site, change a printer data line and the computer System and try again. The last but not the least, make sure of the perfection of the CD.
Installing HP printer driver and the printer
We can install HP printer drivers and the printer following these steps:
1. Download the full version of printer driver from the net.
Double click the driver program icon, click lower left corner start then run, enter “% temp%” and find the hp web release file folder, copy it to the desktop and refer to file added:
2. The basic driver program downloaded from the internet.
On the side of the basic driver, a file option will be generated. You can use this too.
3. Add the printer.
Open the printer and fax panel, double click to add printer icon, add printer guide, click next step, choose “connect local printer on this computer, remove the hook for automatic detection, next step and select USB001( If only one printer has been connected to, your computer will assign a fake USB option when the printer connected to your computer. So the second printer will be USB002).
If you are not sure, check whether the ports are correct after the driver installation. The right port should be USB port, control panel and printer and fax. For example: right click 1300 printer icon, choose properties, ports and check whether it’s USB option and make sure the printer type is corresponding with it.

Rules to remember
Don’t’ mistake the installing order, remember rules below:
1. Don’t connect printer before installing the printer driver;
2. Use the original printer driver disc or get the driver download from the printer manufacture’s site;
3. Only connect the printer when you are prompted to do so.

When you do this, remember to Make sure that the printer power light is regularly on and there is an option of “USB printing support” in device manager – Universal Serial Bus controllers.
