Kinds of Mineral Separation Processing Technology

With the development of national economy, demand of permanent magnetic material and reduction iron increases and quality requirement of product also becomes serious. Nowadays, materials made of permanent material (ferrite ) and reduction iron mainly are red iron oxide and steel scale. Because yield of red iron oxide and steel scale is very low, price of them is very high and quality is not steady, therefore looking for new cheap materil to replace them has become an important research subject needed to be solved.

1. Ore crushing

Concentration plant of our country usually adopts three crushing processes—- coarse breaking through primary jaw crusher, medium breaking and fine breaking to crush iron ore. Coarse breaking often adopts 1.2 m or 1.5 m gyratory crusher, medium breaking uses 2.1 m or 2.2 m cone crusher with standard type, and fine breaking adopts 2.1 m or 2.2 m cone crusher with short-head type. Block size of mine ore through coarse breaking is not more than 1 m, then through medium and fine breaking, sieves into the end product less than 12 mm and sends it to grinding ore bin.

2. Grinding process

As to grinding process of iron ore in China, most concentration plants adopt grinding process with two segments, and medium and small concentration plants adopts grinding process with one segment. Because of adopting new technology of fine screen regrinding, some concentration plants have changed grinding process with two segments into three segments in recent years. Grinding equipment is often very small, the biggest ball mill is 3.6m×6m,the biggest rod mill is 3.2m×4.5m, the biggest autogeneous mill is 5.5m×1.8m,and pebble mill is 2.7m×3.6m.

Spiral classifier is used to classify after grinding ore. In order to improve efficiency, a part of concentration plants replace twice spiral classisier with hydrocyclone.

3. Separating technology

At present gravity separation is only used to separate manganese with simple structure and rough embedded size, it is especially situable for oxidized manganese ore with large density. Common methods contains hevy medium separation, jigging and tabling. ore vibrating feeder:

At present, technological process of treating oxidized manganese in our country is to crush ore to 6~0mm or 10~0mm, then group them, jig rough ore and send fine ore for tabling. Equipment is harz type replica jig and 6-S shaking table.

According to industrial experiment, grinding proces adopts the stage of rod grinding – ball grinding to grind ore. Equipment scale is φ2100 mm ×3000 mm wet grinding mill. High-intensity magnetic separation adopts shp-2000 high-intensity magnetic separator. Flotation separator mainly uses CHF pneumatic flotation machine. Through the test of many years’ production, they have good performance and proper for the application of manganese mineral processing. Technological process experiment of high-intensity magnetic – flotation separation has succeeded and been applied in production, which marks deep separation of manganese in our country has strided forward a big step.

Because magnetic separation has simple operation, easy to control and strong adaptability, so it can be used to separate manganese minerals of different kinds and has taken up the leading position in the mineral processing of manganese in recent years. Now, the most applied separator in domestic manganese is medium size high-intensity magnetic separator. Rough and fine size high-intensity magnetic seprator also have been applied and ultrafine size high-intensity magnetic seprator is still at the experimental stage.

4. Sintering pellet technology

Sintering technology is the main means for artificial enriched ores in China which produced 160 956 000 tons artificial enriched ore in 1996, and key enterprises produced 94 859 000 tons and accounted for 58.9%; local national enterprises produced 61 337 000 tons and accounted for 38.1%.
