Now lets be honest its not difficult usually to buy a gift for a child. It could be for Christmas, Birthdays or just because you love them so much! Aww. Bless! But if it snt plastic, probably based on a franchised childrens Hollywood blockbuster, or just plain cuddly then its usually electronic. This would usually involve the cost and hassle of batteries and chargers, annoying clicks and beeps and then finally its left to rot in the bottom of a drawer or cupboard until the dead batteries leak.

We have smart devices everywhere, so what does this mean for your child? Cheaper smarter electronic kids toys are coming onto the market with most of the capabilities of your own gear. They still run on batteries but with modern battery technology developed by mobile phone and handheld games console manufacturers the leaky double A cells of the 80′s are long gone!

So a smart toys, or Smart Learning Devices SLD’s are new neccessarly new to children (Speak and Spell anyone?) but they are just so much smarter! You can tether to the internet on a mobile phone and watch a movie for pennies so it makes sense that such technology in the form of a smart hand held device will be available to your child.
