Time to buy makeup again? Before you place that next order here are a few of the top style bible’s guide to top trends for this summer.
It’s red or dead
Top magazine Harper’s Bazaar tips vivid red lipstick as the trending style for this summer, so if you are looking to buy makeup that is on trend its red, red, red.
(In) Vogue
It’s no surprise that there are plenty of trend tips in the leading style magazine vogue, and I’ts always worth checking out their words of advice when its time to buy makeup. Two tips stand out. With eyeliner, black is the new black apparently. As they say
‘Whether winged, smudged or blended, black liner is more relevant than ever for spring/summer 2012’
Nails are majoring on all the catwalks so they’ll be on the High Street next. Keep ahead of the trend with reverse black and burgundy nail tips, bold blue and even egg and toadstool printed nail wraps (good luck with that). It’s not necessary to buy makeup at the top-end to achieve these looks – searching the online cosmetics stores and some imagination will get you close to these looks.
Pretty in Black
Marie Claire go for a minimal take on the trend for just defined lashes and cream blush. Black is their colour of choice for eye liner
‘Black eyes are a seasonal staple, but for summer 2012 they’ve taken on a more urban, playful-punk feel,’ said Maybelline make-up mogul Sharon Dowsett. ‘The key is to keep the eye shape horizontal rather than giving it a retro slant.‘

Elle and back
Never short on when trendspotting, Elle have lots of tips you need to know before you buy makeup. They agree with Harper’s on vivid red lipstick, and pick up on the trend for appliqué eye make-up. Two more trends will perhaps be a little easier to imitate. Firstly, they see a trend in 60’s inspired cat-eyes. And if that’s not a ‘pet’ look of yours, then they also see dramatic navy eyes as another Summer 2012 trend.
Lots of trends to think about – and hopefully lots of summer for you to buy makeup and try the look.
