Bilingual people are most sought after resources in the current job market. Knowledge of a foreign language increases the employability of a person by multi-folds. Globalization has opened foreign markets. Hence, the requirement for resources with knowledge of multiple languages has increased tremendously. If you wish to relocate to French speaking countries such as France or Canada, the visa process itself mandates the knowledge of French.

If your dream is to work in a Japanese company, knowledge of Japanese will be an added advantage to find that coveted Japanese job. Knowledge of Japanese can be acquired through various resources. You can join the language teaching centers in your city to pick up the language. Alternatively, you can use the web to learn the language. There are plenty of audio-visual aids for acquiring language skills. 

Requirements for a Translator’s Role

A major area in which bilingual and multilingual people are in demand is in translator roles. There is a constant requirement for people who can translate content from one language to another. While there are currently many tools that perform translation, none of them have zero error translation. Translation requires that you should know both the languages thoroughly. For example, to be employed as a French – English translator, you must be an expert in both French as well as English languages. Mere knowledge of the basics of the language will not suffice. In depth knowledge is mandatory for translator jobs.

Multi lingual people have tremendous scope in the international job market. Knowledge of various languages enables you to seamlessly interact with people across cultures and geographical locations. For multinational companies that are spread across various geographical locations, you would be an invaluable asset. Multi linguistic people are a small pool of resource and are high in demand.
