Life Coaching is a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life Coaches helps you access “your own” wisdom, and act upon it and helps clients set ,design a plan to reach goals and create lives that are successful and fulfilling, based on the client’s own values, using a variety of tools and techniques. They are not therapists nor consultants, mentor, cheerleader, friend or advice-giver; psychological intervention and business analysis are totally outside the scope of their work. Life Coaching draws inspiration from disciplines including sociology, psychology, positive adult development, career as well as other types of counseling and mentoring. Life coaching involves supporting clients in discovering and creating what they most want in their lives. The coaching process actually calls forth the best in both the Life Coach and the Client. From this place, the Life Coach elicits information from the deepest part of the client that hadn’t previously been accessible to the client.
A specialized type of Life Coaching that uses specific techniques geared toward working with the unique brain wiring of individuals with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder is known as ADHD coaching, where the coaches work with clients to help them better manage time, organize, set goals and complete projects. In addition to helping clients understand the impact ADHD has had on their lives, Life coaches help clients develop “work-rounds” strategies to deal with specific challenges, and determine and use individual strengths. Not only this, they help clients get a better grasp of what reasonable expectations are for them as individuals and also
work with them to eliminate any obstacles or blocks that stand before them.
