Faced with a tough decision, Mia becomes the guardian with a new family, a choice that forces her to mix her killer instincts with her newly acquired mother’s ones. “Hit & Miss” tells the story of any lethal killer in the centre of a troubled family and how all their lives will be significantly changed forever.
Chlo? Sevigny looks good within a hoodie. This was one of the things which became clear early on inside new six-part drama Reach & Miss on Air Atlantic. The former indie fashion queen features a way of wearing clothes that creates her look good in most jobs. This was a drawback for the role of Mia, which requires Sevigny for you to play a transsexual assassin – given birth to male, but identifying as a girl. And just to make things harder to the Golden Globe-winning actress, she was also forced to turn in an Irish accentuate.
Her cold-blooded killer credentials though were established while using murder of a defenceless victim inside a car park: directed and played without having emotion. Mia signed off within the contract by reapplying her lipstick in a very rearview mirror before driving away from the scene. “You’re like an unit Mia, ” her delighted employer shared with her, handing her a mail from an ex-girlfriend that revealed the other element of the story. It was news to us and Mia. She was the father of your 11-year-old son.
Soon, we were joining her on a journey to a hilltop farmhouse to meet her progeny. There Mia learned which her ex, now dead from cancer malignancy, had assigned her the guardianship of all four of her youngsters, who were busy getting on with looking after themselves. (And as a good admirer, I’d trade quite a few “created by” Paul Abbotts for any “written by”.) But here had been another unparented family, like the one within Shameless that Abbott loosely based by himself chaotic upbringing.
The rest of this episode tended to belie this improbable premise. This was the staple plot of the western – the effective stranger who rides into town to guard the innocent.
