One of the most severe types of acne involve deep sebaceous gland blockages beneath the skin surface. When the sebaceous glands are blocked, they produce large, unsightly bumps and lumps on several areas, namely the face, upper chest, and back areas. What is interesting, perhaps, is that dead skin cells are part of the reason for the blockages to form. It may be helpful to exfoliate the skin to reduce the chances of this happening. But as you know, there are no guarantees with acne. It’s also no secret that acne runs in some families, but this isn’t true for every family member. Indeed, it’s worth trying exfoliation on your acne if your case is isolated and not due to family genetics. Nonetheless, you can be bad for your skin if you exfoliate over and over.

Acne is often known as, acne vulgaris, and it is a very common skin condition as we all know. The reason acne is seen more often on the face is due to the amount of sebaceous follicles present. For this reason you’ll mostly see acne on the face, back and top half of the chest. There are different degrees of acne, the least severe simply being whiteheads and blackheads. But you should remember that even these minor forms of acne can lead to much more severe acne. You shouldn’t ever squeeze any blemishes on your face as it’ll just make things much worse.

There are a lot of different types of acne that can actually form. Most people that have this skin condition get it for a variety of different reasons. Acne, however, is not simply about getting a pimple or two. As an illustration, one type of acne called Rosacea is not the variety in which pimples of any sort form. Organic in its formation, acne can also form through chemical exposure on many people. Halogenated chemical compounds, in this particular instance, can cause what is called Choracne.

Treating acne is not an exact science due to the fact that there are so many potential causes for acne as well as misconceptions as to its origin. Acne does have a genetic origin which varies from person to person. Many people that have family members that have acne do not realize that genetics may not be the reason that they have it. For example, a person could have developed acne in a person’s family lineage, and that occurrence may not have been genetic in origin. In the situations in which there is a genetic tendency, then there will often be several members of the family who develop the condition.

A dermatologist is also a good option in regard to determining what you need to do to get your skin clear. The expert help that you receive will help you accelerate your skin clearing goals. Then, you may even be prescribed medication to help combat your acne and keep it under control.
