The Tour Of Mont Blanc tmb
The Mont Blanc Challenge
Each year Events and Challenges are produced in attempts to raise vital funds for charities across the world, from charity walks, 24 hour events, London to Paris cycle rides to midnight walks and three Peak Challenges to John O Groats to Lands Finish walks ranging in numerous distances but there is one Challenge that truly does stand out for it is shear commitment and determination to try and complete along with the possibility of summiting Western Europes Highest Mountain called Mont Blanc. This Challenge is known as the TMB.
The Challenge entails trekking, walking and part climbing across the World Well-known Mont Blanc, over 185 kms across 3 nations, Italy, France and Switzerland that surrounds the Massif region of Mont Blanc itself, The Italian, Swiss and French Alps, all in 10 days. With an added chance to summit Mont Blanc standing in excess of 15,000 ft in the final few days of the challenge via an option of summit routes.
Getting trained difficult for more than 6 months for this challenge, our team of 6 had been hoping to raise important funds for the Hospice Charity that provides over 1,300 patients with the vital care and assistance they require to allow them to live every last moment of their lives to the full. The Hospice needs to raise in excess of £3 million every year, as always, “Every penny and each pound counts!”
We carried all of our equipment, tents, food, water for the duration from the trek but had the chance to use the numerous huts and quit points and B&B’s, Hotels in the villages and we had paid for this challenge ourselves, flights, gear, insurances, therefore it gave the charity every penny that was raised. If you are able to sponsor or assistance any challenge it would be greatfully received. There are many on-line Fundraising websites such as The Just Giving Charity pages.
We had been also hoping to keep friends and family informed of our Challenge progress during the 12 days from each country, signal permitting to Twitter and updates on our events Facebook page and who knows, maybe even a phone call to loved ones from the very top of Western Europe.
